Marijuana should stay ILLEGAL!

I think marijuana should always be illegal in Honduras and in the rest of the world. Marijuana can be a serious threat to the economy of many families in Honduras. Moreover, the abuse of Marijuana can lead to serious physical problems. Also, marijuana can seriously affect the opinion of people toward other drugs and may open the legalized process for other drugs as well.

Some important information to know about marijuana: “When pot is smoked, the body absorbs between 10-25 percent of the THC that it contains. The amount required to experience a high is relatively small, at only 10 mg. THC doesn't leave the body immediately after the joint is smoked. A certain amount (approximately 30-40 percent) of the THC is stored in the individual's body fat. It takes between four and six weeks for the THC to be undetectable in the marijuana user's bloodstream.”
This clearly demonstrates all the traumatic effects that marijuana has towards the human body. If marijuana is legalized, people will suffer more of these effects.

The Legalization of marijuana would make the substance a lot easier to get, for example today you need to find a drug dealer which are very few that are running the risk. If legalized the access towards the drug will be much simpler to get. Addicts will start to throw their money away in these drugs, making world hunger and poverty a much serious problem.

More of these problems with the addicts are that, the “Junkies” will stop producing for their families and will indebt in order to get the drug. All these economical problems can lead into problems within the social stability of the families and the National economy.  If a common worker gets the hang of marijuana as a daily basis thing they will stop producing, getting themselves fired. This leads to lack of productivity and increase the percentage of unemployment in Honduras.

METH

Meth is a dangerous epidemic that is spreading like a virus around the world.  Although it was once used for war purposes, nowadays its recreational use is fatal and devastating to not only its users, but also the friends and family of these drug addicts.  A solution should be found in order to put a stop to the use of meth, but what is a possible resolution to this problem? The only solution is to educate the general population about the hazardous effects of methamphetamine, such as this video did for me and my peers.

If educators target the younger populations of society to receive an education about the harmful effects of Meth, such as brain damage, violent behavior, addiction, and malnutrition, to name a few, then perhaps a decrease in the use of the drug may be seen in the future.  I cannot see why anyone would begin using the drug if they truly understood the effects that would occur to their brains, bodies, and personalities.  Although all drugs cause harm to the human body, meth is the most dangerous. And because its use has not escaped any social class, sex or age, it is the drug that we as a society should increase awareness of the harm that can be caused in order to stop, or at the very least attempt to decrease, the use of methamphetamine.

Gangs and Fear

Gangs are one of the major causes of murders and danger all around the world, therefore they are one of the main causes of fear.
One of the most feared gangs is the Mara Salvatrucha. This gang is commonly abreviated as Mara MS, and MS-13. It originated in los angeles and it is a criminal gang that has imparted fear throughout the US and other parts of the world to where they have spread(Canada, Mexico, and Central America). Most of the members thate make up the mara salvatrucha are latin americans and the gang members are mostly found in urban or suburban areas. The members of this gang are commonly characterized by tattoos all over their bodies (sometimes even on their faces). They have really cruel revenge codes which make them really notorious. The mara salvatrucha also communicates through their own sign language.
The gang members cause fear in all of the people that live around their community. These people have fear because they are not gang members, but they live in their same community so living so close to them creates fear in them. Another reason that people that are near these gang members feel fear is because the MS is like a family that is made up of violent people. Every day you see people murdered or women raped, and most of the time, it's the gang members who achieve these crimes. Another danger in gang comunities is that if you are not known in that community you might get killed if the gang members consider you a stranger or a threat. People also feel fear just by looking at them .This is because they have tattoos all over their bodies and use really baggy clothes so they don't look very friendly.
MS members are now getting younger kids from high schools so the gang has a future for when the big guys die. Most of the kids recluted are from public high school. These kids accept because they think it's cool, but actually they do not know the danger they are gettng themselves into. Mos gang members end up dead or in jail. It's almost imposible to get out of the gang once you are in it.
In conclusion gangs are a real threat in society. If we know kids who might think of getting into a gang we should teach them the dangers of being in a gang so that they will have a second thougt about making the biggest mistake of their lifes.
